RH Bill, Know It Beyond The Box

Firstly, What Is RH Bill? According to en.wikipilipinas.org; RH Bill or The Reproductive Health Bill is a bill pending in the 15th Philippine Congress that seeks to promote on a national level access to information and the availability of natural and artificial contraception. It seeks to empower couples in responsible family planning through education and access to legal and medically safe birth control. Other than en.wikipilipinas.org; a blogger from blogspot.com cited that, “The Reproductive Health bills, or popularly known as  RH bill, are Philippine Bills aiming to guarantee universal access to methods and information on birth control and maternal care.” So, the Reproductive Health Bill or RH Bill is a bill where it promotes pills and devices which induce abortion to Filipinos to have a responsible family planning, legal and safe birth control. Secondly, What Are The Pros And Cons Of The RH Bill? There are people who are against in pushing through the Reproductive Health Bill. Examples who are against the Bill are the Catholic ministry. Their aim is to stop the proclamation of the RH Bill to a new law.
Pros of the Reproductive Health Bill:
“Overpopulation. It is believed that RH Bill is the responsive approach to rapid population growth to which many people point out as a cause to poverty. One proof is the direct effect of overpopulation on unemployment which is widespread in the country. Pro Choice and Pro Chance. Not only that RH bill is a “pro-choice”, as cited on the bill, but also a chance to alleviate poverty. By using contraceptives, people have a choice as to the number of children that they can afford to care for. Through this method, overpopulation can be reduced. Reproductive Health Education for the Youth. This will raise the level of awareness to the youth’s perception of gender roles and will influence the choices they’ll make about their own sexual behavior. Maternal Care.  The bill aims to provide sufficient services such as emergency obstetrics and basic care. In addition, skilled medical personnel will be provided even in remote areas to decrease maternal death which is mostly caused by unattended childbirth.”
From :http://www.cebujobs.ph/community/4-major-pros-and-cons-that-you-should-know-about-the-rh-bill/)
Cons of the Reproductive Health Bill:
“Overpopulation. (Ironic, isn’t it?) RH Bill is an assumption on the basis that “overpopulation causes poverty.” The growing supply of young workers is projected to contribute a high percentage in economic growth for the Philippines. Bernardo M. Villegas, a Filipino writer, economist and Senior Vice-President at the University of Asia and the Pacific(UA&P) mentioned in his article ‘Vote No to RH Bill’ that “. . . Japan’s second-largest shipbuilder expanded in the Philippines, where workers are on average half the age of its Japanese employees.” This further implies to the Philippine demographics in which 61 % of the population are from 15-64 years of age which constitutes to the GDP of the country.
Anti-Life. RH Bill in the first place is a violation of a religious doctrine in the Philippines, a Catholic-dominated nation. Contraceptives are not an assurance to prevent fertilization, for medical studies show that some of these contraceptives are abortifacient. Irresponsible Sexual Behavior. Introducing reproductive health education and promoting the use of contraceptives may encourage irresponsible sexual attitude, especially among the youth. Prone to Corruption.  Implementation of the bill will cost billions of pesos and the threat lies behind the process. History has made us aware of several instances that support this claim. The question is… will the fund be utilized to meet the bill’s goal?”

The Reproductive Health Bill As A Law.
“People's freedom to access contraceptives is not restricted by any opposing law, being available in family planning NGOs, stores, etc. The country is not a welfare state. Taxpayer’s money should not be used for personal practices that are harmful and immoral; it can be used to inform people of the harm of BCPs.” (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsible_Parenthood_and_Reproductive_Health_Act_of_2012#Criticism)

“The penal provisions constitute a violation of free choice and conscience, and establish religious persecution.”  (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsible_Parenthood_and_Reproductive_Health_Act_of_2012#Criticism

Climate Change

Have you ever notice that the climate in the Philippines and parts of the world is changing, have you ever notice that this month should be raining but it’s hot like summer. There is one reason for these phenomena it’s called Climate change. Climate change is the ever changing weather all-over the world due to the activities done by humans. Lets us confront some facts that is happening to the world.

According to Ned Haluzan “Greenhouse gas emissions are set for another rise in 2012. According to a Global Carbon Project, the greenhouse gas emissions will reach a record high of 35.6 billion tonnes at the end of 2012, accounting for a 2.6% increase when compared to previous year.” And as we all know that it will continue to rise for the due to the harmful gas that is being used by us. People do not realize that every minute that we don’t act on this problem, we the people are dooming our self. As the planet continue to have a rise on temperature there will be drought, famine due to lack of rain fall and most of all people will die due to extreme heat and lost of homes due to the increasing sea level. Lives will be lost and many people will not recover the extreme changes that will happen to there life.

Climate change has negative impact on forests from many different angles. The increased temperatures are not only causing heat stress and drought but they are also opening the door for wide-spread insect infestation.

In many parts of the world researchers are already talking about rapidly growing forest mortality. Not all tree species are affected the same with some species of trees being more resistant than other, with other likely to be hit particularly hard, depending on factors such asage or sizes of trees.

Some researchers fear that in business as usual scenario many forest areas will cease to exist and will turn into grasslands or some other ecosystems. This could further increase climate change impact because forests are large carbon sinkers, absorbing plenty of CO2 from the atmosphere. Also, the decomposition of dead trees releases CO2 in the atmosphere, therefore increasing global warming effect and debris from dead trees could also increase a forest's fire risk and result in even more CO2 emissions.

Forests play vital role in not only absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere, but also in regulating climate and water purification. They are also important for water and nutrient cycle, not to mention that they also provide homes for thousands of different animal and plant species.

In United States, this summer's severe drought has taken heavy toll on forests, and we are yet to receive official data about the total damage done to U.S. forests. One thing is sure though, there will be plenty dead trees in the final report.

Many researchers believe that one-dimensional approach may not be enough to save our forests and are calling for joint action that would not only include climate change scientists and ecologists but also, biochemists, hydrologists, economists, social scientists, etc.

Current forest management practices won't be enough to save many of our forests from climate change impact and this is why this issue needs to involve more scientists, from different scientific fields.

Now can I ask you these question, will we wait for our doom or will we act now and stop all this from happening and change the world little by little and save human kind?
We can do it if we just do it together.

Michael Jordan is the best there ever was, and the best there will be. He is the best player to ever play any team sport. He also made Pippen and Rodman the players they are due to his desire to win. No one can match MJ’s will to win and his mental toughness to bring his opponents down.

Being able to play in a big league like the NBA, means a lot already to a player; but being able to mention as one of the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball is already a great meaning to one’s career. It truly defines how great they impact the game at their era and how they change the game of basketball.
One of the important aspects of being the best player there is, is not only how tough you are physically or how big you are but developing proper attitude about the game. Proper attitude means respecting your teammates and also your opponents. Your opponents is trying their best too in playing the game. Never play "dirty". You are only lowering yourself by doing it. Play hard, with enthusiasm and passion, and play to win, but play with class and just enjoy the game because that is what sports means.
To become winners like these 5 players, we must recognize how important our teammates are. They all share the same “There is no I in TEAM” saying because they can’t achive what they have now without their teammates.

We could also apply what these 5 players have: there will and their passion to the game, in any other kinds of sport. They all played as hard as they can but sometimes they often fails but remember that you can often learn more in losing. You don’t need to have many medals or trophies to be a winner, because winning is not about how awards you have won but how you dedicated yourself to win and never giving up in times of struggle

Hannah Grace C. Galeno [Final]

Top Ten TV-Series
When I tire of reading a novel or other books, I shift my attention to watching TV-Series, not only does it widens my understanding of the world it also nurtures my passion for adventure though not literally physical. It can bring you back into time, experience different cultures, and understand human’s physicality. It can give you your greatest fantasies, it can motivate you, and it can inspire you to dream. So dear bloggers I hope I can share with you my life changing TV-series.

10. Switched at Birth

Summary: Switched at Birth, Tells the story of two teen girls who discover that they were accidentally switched at birth. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing as a child due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a poor neighborhood. Things come to a dramatic head when both families meet and struggle to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.
Source: http://watchtvseries.ch/serie/switched_at_birth

Notes: I adore this series, it touches our dramatic side, you’ll feel pity and at the same time astounded with their situation. I actually learned hand sign language, it’s an artwork I tell you, and you can learn it by heart. Hearing-impaired communities are special, not that I am biased, it’s that they work harder to understand us and to be understood. You might find my description cliche but do surprise yourself and you might actually enjoy watching this series.

 9. FlashForward

Summary: After the entire world's population blacks out for approximately 2 minutes and 17 seconds, which in effect causes the entire world to see a glimpse of life 6 months into the future, an elite FBI task force is formed to investigate who or what caused the global blackout, whether the events foreseen were simply flashes or true events of what's to come, and whether or not it could possibly happen again.

Notes: Short but fully packed with just one season I was blown away. Though I admit the ending was a cliff hanger, it’s still worth the time.

8. Modern Family

Summary: Modern Family is an American comedy series. Presented in mockumentary style, the fictional characters frequently talk directly into the camera. It tells of Jay Pritchett, his second wife, baby son and stepson, and his two children and their families. Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan conceived the series while sharing stories of their own "modern families".

Notes: This is truly a stress reliever series; it will make you laugh with every episode. Anyone can relate to the characters, every episode make sense, none too redundant. It tells about the modern American family which is a very curious pack.

7. Heroes

Summary: Heroes, is an American science fiction television drama series created by Tim Kring that appeared on NBC for four seasons. The series tells the stories of ordinary people who discover superhuman abilities, and how these abilities take effect in the characters' lives. The series emulates the aesthetic style and storytelling of American comic books, using multi-episode story arcs that build upon a larger, more encompassing arc.

Notes: this series is far from the clichéd super hero garb story in big budget Hollywood, instead it really lives up to its name, but not too much as to make us think we were watching an X-men rip-off. It is completely original in its presentation and you’ll find it enjoyable all throughout the series.

6. Pretty Little Liars

Summary: A clique of teenage girls drift apart after the group's leader, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing. Her body is found and the girls are reunited at her funeral. All four begin receiving text messages from the mysterious 'A', who seems to know many of the group's deepest secrets, some of which only the late Alison had knowledge of. The girls join forces against A's scheming and try to uncover the mystery of Alison's death.

Notes: From the first episode I was hooked. This became my new guilty pleasure they all have great chemistry with each other on screen, it really makes it believable. Each character has their own interesting subplot which is what really drives the show. It’s refreshing to watch, very addictive and catchy.

5. Top Gear

Summary: Top Gear is a British television show about motor vehicles, primarily cars, and is the world's most widely watched factual television programme. It began in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show. Over time, and especially since a relaunch in 2002, it has developed a quirky, humorous and sometimes controversial style. The show is currently presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, and has featured at least three different test drivers known as The Stig. The programme is estimated to have around 350 million views per week in 170 different countries.

Notes: Top Gear is, without question, the single greatest show about cars on TV. What sets Top Gear apart is the attitude the presenters have. Unlike other car show which explains all technical detail in cold and clinical manner. Top Gear on the other hand, refuses to take itself seriously, which is what makes it so great. Top Gear is more than just goofing around in cars. It's witty, it's funny, and it makes you feel like one of the guys. The three presenters all poke fun at one another, at cars, at themselves, and all the while you feel like you are right there in the studio hanging out with them and you don't even have to like cars to like the show. It is the hosts that make the show though. You'll love to hate Jeremy Clarkson, possibly the worlds most opinionated and boastful man. James May, in sharp contrast, is almost a stereotype of an English gentleman, reserved, witty, and refusing to run on television. Bringing up the rear is Richard Hammond, the youngest, shortest, and most enthusiastic of the lot. Women will love him, he's also the cutest. Arguably it is the best Car show on the world.

4. The Walking Dead

Summary: Rick Grimes is a former police officer who has been in a coma for several months after being shot whilst on duty. When he wakes, he discovers that the world has been taken over by Zombies, and that he seems to be the only person still alive. Having returned home to discover his wife and son missing, he heads for Atlanta to search for his family. Narrowly escaping death at the hands of the Zombies on arrival in Atlanta, he is aided by another survivor Glenn who takes Rick to a camp outside the town. There Rick finds his wife Lori and son Carl. Along with his partner and best friend Shane, he founds a small group of survivors who struggle to fend off the zombie hordes, as well as competing with other survivor groups who are prepared to do whatever it takes to survive.

Notes: We finally have a TV Show that's associated with the beloved Zombie franchise and what it does it does right. The world is dead and rotting. The military have lost the battle. You wake up with Rick in this new world and get to explore it with him. I’m personally invested in this series already. The zombies are Roamers and lurkers. They act how they should and you do feel sorry for them. The balance is perfect between a horror film, TV show and intelligent drama. It's a weekly dose of zombie apocalypse.

3. Game of Thrones

Summary: Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between the houses Stark, Lannister and Baratheon, and with the remaining great houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, and Tyrell, leads to full-scale war. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. Amidst the war and political confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond.

Notes: this show is stunning. I have never read the books and now I want to. It is complex, multi-layered, surreal, vibrant, imaginative and it draws your eye in to the surprising level of detail, from the sweeping vistas, to the narrow dungeons, from the beautiful castles and magnificent trees, to the contrasting landscapes. It is worth watching just for the scenery alone. Love, betrayal, greed, murder, and corruption all collides in the mythical world of Westeros. Game of thrones is unlike any other fantasy world you have ever seen or have ever dreamed.

2. Sherlock

Summary: In this modernized version of the Conan Doyle characters, Sherlock Holmes lives in early 21st century London assisting the Metropolitan Police Service, primarily Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade (Rupert Graves), in solving various crimes. Holmes is assisted by his flatmate, Dr John Watson, who has returned from military service in Afghanistan. Although the series depicts a variety of crimes and perpetrators, Holmes' conflict with his arch-nemesis Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott) is a recurring feature.

Notes: as a Sherlock Holmes fan I have read all the original stories. Brought up to date into the 21st century, it was done with affection and respect to the original. A brilliantly written, well-acted programme, Benedict Cumberbatch does a brilliant job portraying the famous sleuth and made a 19th century character and modern day London merge beautifully. Martin Freeman was most brilliant as Dr. Watson. The story had me hooked from the start. All the elements of Holmes are present and correct; it is suspenseful and sometimes genuinely funny, a true master piece.

1.The Tudors

Summary: This costume drama features England's splendid Renaissance dynasty under King Henry VIII. Beginning in Season 1 when Henry VIII was growing desperate for an heir and growing distant from his first wife, the series moves quickly to the period when Anne Boleyn became his obsession. During this time Cardinal Wolsey rose to become the power behind his throne, ruling ruthlessly and nearly absolutely while Henry (played by Jonathan Rhyes Meyers) for the most part followed the Cardinal's advice, maneuvering through a series of betrayals and plots against him. When Anne Boleyn plays much harder to get than any woman ever has, Henry begins to search for a way out of his marriage to Katherine of Aragon, so that he can make Anne his wife. Needing a divorce, Henry turns to Wolsey, who promises to help him create waves of backlash from the church, as well as the Spanish Habsburg dynasty and its overseas empire. Against this background, grate the private lives and political intrigues of several members of the royal court and chancery.

Notes: The Tudors is a fantastic show which showcases the life and times of King Henry the VIII. As the opening of the show tells the viewer, "You think you know a story but you only know how it ends. To get to the heart of a story you have to go back to the beginning." I'm sure a lot of people watching the show are watching it for entertainment and not because of its historical accuracy. I personally love Tudor England and all of Great Britain’s history.
And there you have it, my top 10 all-time favorite TV-Series, though I might be biased with my choices I fervently hope that you will give these masterpieces a second though and decide to watch it, and if you do dear bloggers we’ll have something to talk about ha ha ha.

They say that Chinese migrate from China to Singapore we may know that China had a great population number that the whole island of China can't support them. So the other Chinese forced to leave their country for their own sake too. The other reason why there are many tourist because they are hoping to find a decent job to support their family. Like my mother she was an OFW here in Singapore. She was transfer in Singapore because of her job here in the Philippines the company she worked before begun to closed but the great news was their were jobs that outside of the country waiting for them. My mother was chosen by a Singaporean Company to work for them. At first, it was sad for us and for my mother to be separate from us but she don't have a choice she is the breadwinner of our family.
By the time go passed by, my mother send us a messaged that we will go to Singapore we are excited that time. We pack our things that we will bring to Singapore. We arrived at Singapore early morning. We rode a taxi from airport to my mom's apartment. We rest a little then we sleep because of tired brought by traveling 3 to 4 hours roughly. When we woke up, we bring out our things and put it to a drawer. After that, we prepare our breakfast. After the meal my mom tell us that we will go for a tour around the Singapore. Mom brought us to the famous Merlion in Singapore. We are amazed in that time that is my first time saw a statue that a water coming from it. While walking, we decided to eat my mom knew a public food stall near there. The food stalls are mix there was Korean foods, Thailand foods, Chinese foods, Japanese foods, and also Pinoy foods. The foods was so delicious that we can waste our money just to eat and eat again. We are done eating and we don't seem to check the time it was late night we decided to go back to our home. We rest for 2 days then my mom decided to take us to Universal Studio (Singapore). It look like a Enchanted Kingdom that had many theme park. The rides was a little bit scary because it was too high for. I take some shots it will be a bad idea if I will not take some of it. Then after finishing all of the rides we decide to tour one more because the entrance was expensive so we take our time until we feel tired of walking. That day was the best day I feel but was the sad day also because there were only 2 days remained before we go back to Philippines. I thanks my mom for taking us in Singapore it was a better memories with my parents and sisters. I learn from my mom that if we want our future sons or daughters to go in other countries "study hard and become an industrious person don't just give up no pain no gain" my mom said to us. I said to myself "I will always remember that I will become just like my mom which is a successful person"

Thanks for reading it. I hope you enjoy reading my experience in Singapore.

Public Transportation in the Philippines
Are you curios about the transportation in the Philippines? The Philippines has different kinds of public transportation depending on what region you are. The Philippines has very cheap expenses compared to other countries public transport. You can also choose what kind of public transport you want to avail, it depends upon your choice. There are various forms of public transportation in the Philippines, some are prominent and some are not so remarkable to people who have never been to the Philippines.

JEEP

The most frequent in the Philippines in different areas is the so-called "The king of The Road" which is Jeepney or simply Jeep. It is also one of the most affordable public transportation's in the Philippines. Jeepneys are used for both local and long-distance transport in the Philippines. They can see anywhere, but usually they prefer to stop where there is a crowd of possible customers. The Filipino phrase bayad ko (buy-yad-ko) translates as 'here is my fare' and will get the driver's attention. Those who are unadjusted to sharing their personal space with a total stranger should forget about trying this one.

TRICYCLE

The Filipinos commonly call it “tricycle” or simply “trike”. You can see it everywhere. When you weld a steel carriage to a motorcycle and add an additional wheel for support, you get a tricycle. This is one of the noisiest vehicles you will ever hear in the country. The addition of a small wood plank will increase a tricycle’s seating capacity. In many areas it can be rented per hour.

MRT, LRT, PNR

There is a railway system that serves Manila and other regions, but it doesn't reach this far north. There are only two train lines that run in the Philippines. The first type includes the Metro Railway Transit and the Light Railway Transit (Phases 1 and 2), which passing back and forth Metro Manila to provide a cheap alternative to land travel for office workers and students. These railway systems give advantages to the people in Metro Manila. The Philippine National Railway runs from Manila all the way to the Bicol peninsula in Southern Luzon, which serves as a substitute for going to the provinces by bus.

BUS

Our buses come in two types: air-conditioned and ordinary. You get the drift. The same fanciful approach to seating capacity taken by jeepney drivers applies to bus drivers as well, so you’re likely to stand along the aisle wedged tight against a good number of your co-passengers, some standing right up against the doors. It is commonly used by the students and workers going to manila from their province and vice versa.

TAXI

The Philippines has taxi also, but it is cheaper compared to other countries. You can see them lined up in some tourist spots like hotels and some restaurants. If you wanted a more private ride with your family, you can rent a taxi. Sometimes it is also use by the people who are in a hurry. Now it has forty pesos flat down rate.

PEDICAB

The Pedicab is a three wheeled bicycle with a covered rear seat for customers. Like a bicycle rickshaw, this form of transportation is powered by human pedal power. This is the least expensive public transportation in the Philippines. Pedicab driving may be one of the most difficult occupations in the world; drivers are often ill due to the heat exposure, exhausting work, and constant sweating. It is also used in the frequently flooded area in the Philippines.
